Wescall
I was thinking about how the big three American car companies don't make an awd coupe. Why is that? They would sell and ford has the rs platform to start on.
J-150
It would sell about 12 units a year.
ice-capades
Car sales are plummeting because of American buyers fascination with SUV's and CUV's tahnks in good part to cheap gas. Without even a 2-door regular Focus body to work with as a starting point, there's no reason for Ford to even consider a 2-door Focus RS. As it is the order-to-delivery time for an RS model is at least 5 months.
twintornados
Step 1) Buy Mustang Step 2) forget AWD oh, and... Step 3) Stop trolling with stupid topics.
sullynd
Step 1) Buy Mustang Step 2) forget AWD I had a rental BMW AWD Convertible for 2,200 miles. If Ford made an AWD Mustang Convertible I'd run to the dealer (I won't buy a BMW). I'm surprised GM hasn't done so to the Camaro since the platform is capable.

Wescall
See I have had mustangs and a Taurus sho and all kinds of ford vehicles i love building cars and trucks that put good amounts of power down to the ground but I think just having an AWD would be convenient with a good launch control. Before anyone says anything about me buying a darn foreign car, I also believe in brand loyalty. I am stationed in Japan right now and I hate seeing all of these non American cars running around. Wescall
Hey I didn't choose to come here. I see Japanese cars all over America. The only American vehicle I have seen over here is a chevy Silverado and that was a disappointement. Then again what bowtie doesn't disappoint in the end? You're in the most closed off market outside of North Korea. The Japanese government looks out for Japanese companies.

chefduane
The only 2dr AWD that is selling worth a darn is the Subaru Impreza Coupe. Subaru is up 12% YoY (autonews.com) and looks to be on track for the rest of '17. Subaru's boxer engine/AWD drivetrain is considered to be bullet proof by many, and lots of outdoorsy types swear by them. And they seem to be pretty tough cars in general. I'd never buy one but lotsa' folks do. US manufacturers typically stay with what they do best - and AWD coupes ain't it. Anybody remember the Audi Quattro? True, however you and I know that there's always that meathead crowd that will always look down on anything that isn't a V8
