Continental at the track

Recommended Posts

My trap speed was 102.8 mph. That is a bit misleading because of a stiff headwind. I have found that hurts trap speed more than it hurts ET. My MKS had a Livernois tune and was usually in the 107-109 MPH range. In calm air, I would expect my stock Continental to be around 104. I hope to find out the next time I go to the track.

My car is on the left and that electric rocket is on the right:

13.5 would be more impressive if it wasn't next to a 11.3.

Lol

Exactly!! It is also a lot more fun to line up against something more comparable performance-wise. At this test session, you just get whatever competitor happens to be in the other lane.

You can probably knock off some time off the 60ft too.

Yes, I can do better in the 60. I used to brake torque my MKS to about 2000 rpm to launch. With the Conti, I basically launched from a fast idle. I just wanted the first run to be fairly conservative and then get more aggressive in later runs after making sure there were no issues.
