How about it guys.  Plenty of "auto test" articles that give the 2.7 high marks.  Any opinions out there from users?  One of my sons is looking at a used 4 dr. with 19,000 miles.  Truck is very clean.  Will do short distance towing (22'Mako) on tandem trailer.

Make sure it has the factory HD tow package !

The 2.7L EcoBoost equipped with the HD tow package, including 3.73 axle, can tow about 8,000 lbs, less for the SuperCab or SuperCrew.

My friend has a Supercrew with that motor and it has been a good truck. He does some occasional towing with a tandem axle trailer with the small tractor on it and it handles it sufficiently. He did say that it does have to downshift somewhat frequently to stay in the power while Towing but otherwise it's good.

I have driven it a couple times and it does feel powerful for that size of motor but I was not towing anything.
