fuzzymoomoo
Is there a trick that I'm missing? I can't get the rear bolt (the one that attatches to the subframe) out. I soaked the crap out of it with PB blaster, I beat the holy hell out of it with a hammer and it won't budge. The other 2 lateral links came out with little issue, save for one seized bolt that came out with a a very liberal use of the hammer. twintornados
From what I have read on the subject, it is either angle grinder cut, impact, or just brute force to get it out....good luck and I wish your knuckles well.
fuzzymoomoo
Lololol I shouldn't have attempted this Still can't get that one bolt to budge, gonna have to cut it The other side is even worse. All 3 bolts to the trailing arm seized in their bushings, one (the rear control arm of course....) snapped and the other 2 broke the welds of their respective nuts. Can't get them out with a hammer Lord jeebus help me
fuzzymoomoo
And it gets worse I tapped out and took it to a shop after one of the swing arm bolts to the trailing arm broke It took them a week to get the left side off And in doing so they found a hole corroded through the subframe. Needless to say I'm getting a new subframe out of the deal too... Good thing for me that Ford was profitable last year Edited April 1, 2017 by fuzzymoomoo
