I have a 2017 Fusion Hybrid with Sync 3. I am really frustrated with being unable to change audio source or preset bank without multiple touches of the touch screen. The manual shows that some models have a Media button on the steering wheel, but my vehicle has a voice control button there instead. The cluster 4-way pad on the right side of the steering wheel is also not helpful and requires moving in and out of nested menus to change the station or source.

Has anyone found any solution to this? It would be great if the seek button would just cycle from one preset bank to the next, or better yet, if the presets were independent of source entirely.

Stay on the audio screen and you can just hit the presets button to toggle between the preset banks.    For changing audio source just hit the Source button and then the source you want.  You can also use voice control to change sources.

Yep, that's how it done with the touch screen. But looking away from the road for 2-3 seconds to change the audio source is not ideal.

But that's only 1 or 2 quick touches.  Not as bad as you're making it seem.

If you don't want to use the touch screen at all then use the voice commands.  That's why they're there.

OK we'll agree to disagree  :) . Seems like many vehicles (including other Ford vehicles) have a steering wheel button to change audio source with one button press, and I find that less distracting.

I'm not arguing that a media or source button on the steering wheel wouldn't be easier - it would.   But one or two very quick button presses isn't as terrible as you make it out to be either.

Also - why not use voice commands?   Hit voice button - "USB" or "Sirius" or "CD" or "Bluetooth".

I don't find it that distracting, but that's me.

I'll try using the voice commands, although I usually have my phone connected with CarPlay active, so the voice commands aren't available.

To me it's no more distracting than glancing down to check the speedo.

Or to see the name of the song that's currently playing.

Or to read a road sign (note this only applies to the 5% of drivers who actually read road signs).

Or the hundred other things where you constantly take your eyes off the road for a second or two at a time.

Does anyone know if you can add navigation to your sync 3 with an after market upgrade?

What’s the difference between the sync 3 with and without the navigation?
