Quick Warranty Question

Recommended Posts

I had to bring my Focus in today for some work and they advised when I dropped it off that I would have a $200 deductible because of the service contract I just bought 2 weeks ago.

I advised that my car was still under the original 3/36 warranty (which has no deductible). The advisor said it goes by the service contract for the deductible.

Is this true? If I had waited until 36K miles to buy the service contract, I would not be paying a deductible right now?

I thought that was odd. Why on earth would anyone buy a service contract before their original warranty was up in this case?

Wow, the person you spoke with was either a complete moron or a complete acammer. As stated, the ESP does not go into effect until day 1 after your 3rd year or 36,000 miles from the odometer reading at the time of purchase (if you had 54 miles on it, warranty expires 36,054)

I don't think the basic warranty will go over 36,000 miles.

Maybe their techs are as bad as their advisers. I had brought it in for the super fast wear I've been getting on my rear brakes (first set lasted 19k, second set only lasted 11k). I'd figure they must find something wrong. They couldn't. More detail in the thread about that.
