That's how you make it 200 lbs lighter, rip out most of the interior ant the trunk trim and spare tire.

Jalopnik has half of the story right.  Supposedly there is going to be two versions of the Demon, one with the normal interior and the full on race model which will have just the driver's seat.

Wouldn't there be better alternatives for a race vehicle in this price range? I thought these vehicles were considered to be pretty heavy.

There's usually alternatives for most things out there.  This is all about marketing to those who want the newest, most outrageous thing.

Probably just drag racing where you can overcome weight with enough power.
