Daniel Green
Has anyone replaced their Edge's PCM. I am replacing mine and wondering if its a plug and play..
fordtech1
It is not plug and play. It will have to be programmed. Some aftermarket pcms are supposedly pre programmed. However, I have always had to perform a parameter reset on the PATS to "marry" the pcm and cluster.
Sonny Van Sickle Jr
had a coil driver go out on wifes 08 Edge. Was possibly a warranty recall for it if under 70,000 mile. Yes it had under 70,000 miles. However it was going to cost me to have it towed to a good Ford dealer, then It was going to have to pay $100 diagnostic charge to find out if computer was bad. It was also going to be at least 2 weeks until they could look at it. One thing a man does not do is leave his wife without a set of wheels. It may not get driven for days at a time, but they want it available. 5 minutes and the computer was out, sent it off to a repair shop . Around $300 and a week later and it was back on the road. They repaired my computer so no programming necessary. Have their business card around somewhere. I think I posted a link to the repair shop on the group 'Auto Techs Online" Look for Ohio AutoTech postings.
