Cheryl Stevens Landers
I hit a deer in my 2013 Edge SEL. When I got it back this week the daytime running lights do not come on automatically when the headlight switch to turned to automatic. The dealer says they are not supposed to come on unless I turn it manually to another setting. I know that the daytime running lights always came on before I hit the deer. Am I wrong or is the dealer wrong? What can I show or tell them if I am right? The headlights were replaced with after market headlights. They cast a very weird pattern and I am not sure if it is the headlights or the way they are positioned. Any thoughts?
transitman
Why did you settle for aftermarket headlights, you should have insisted on genuine Ford replacement parts. Do you have to reset the DRL's in the left side information screen and have the headlight switch set to auto?
1eyedEdge
Ok I have an idea about your DRL's at least....I drive a '13 sport and my DRL's come on even when the dial is off, I've never had it on auto. I bought it this past July and I noticed almost every other Edge I saw, their DRL's weren't on. After some research I found out that Canada REQUIRES DRL's on every vehicle built in country, ran my vin and my Edge was built in Canada. Any Ford dealer or friend that can access the computer can shut them off. Hope this helps and I didn't confuse with my rambling.
akirby
Every Edge sold in North America is built in Canada. What determines if it has drls from the factory is whether it's being sold in Canada or in the States.
