Fgts
Kinda a long shot IMO but an upstart auto manufacturer company saved the old Diamond Star plant from being torn down after Mitsubishi left in May by putting $1million down. Ravin is the company name which one of its chief engineers is an ex-Chrysler engineer, they make car parts and the DSM will allow them to make more then parts. http://www.autonews.com/article/20161209/OEM01/161209831/former-mitsubishi-plant-in-ill-may-house-startup-automaker?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+autonews%2FAutomakerNews+%28Automotive+News+Automaker+News+Feed%29&X-IgnoreUserAgent=
twintornados
Maybe they can become similar to AM General and produce vehicles for the big companies that are short on capacity and need the space for other lines...AM General builds R-Class for Mercedes Benz for what it's worth... 630land
Long shot indeed. More likely GM will bring back the Pontiac brand, or Ford will bring back Mercury, before FCA finds a [sucker] to build Fiat based cars. To make money, FCA will have to send the tooling to cheap labor countries. Sergio cut the smaller cars to try to get a company eager for Jeeps and Ram to merge with him. rperez817
Dr. R.J. Scaringe, huh? He's got some serious talent convincing politicians and economic development officials to pony up incentive money for his ventures. Not so much when it comes to actually bringing new products to market. He told officials in Florida back in 2010 that he was hoping to generate up to 1,200 jobs in that state to build an aluminum framed, 60 mpg rear wheel drive sports car at the $25k price point, under the name Avera Motors: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/2010-12-13/business/os-cfb-cover-avera-20101213_1_avera-motors-space-florida-space-industry To the good citizens of Illinois, follow your native son Ronald Reagan's advice: trust, but verify.
