I've seen those rumors as well, which made me debate whether or not to wait a year. I decided to go ahead anyway because I imagine that there be some additional changes within two years. If the changes are significant enough, I'll go ahead and upgrade.

i dont see it happening after they put all the money into the new 3.5 ecoboost.
