2017 Super Duty is Motor Trend's Truck of the Year

I thought Ford got out of the business of buying this award?

An Of The Year contest plays out one of three ways: There’s no clear winner right up to the end; there are two to three potential winners and a nail-biting vote; or there’s a clear winner early on and the rest becomes a coronation. In this year’s Truck of the Year competition, we knew by the halfway point which truck would win.

What's the competition? Nissan is the only one with an all new model...

Yes, Nissan Titan I believe is it. Sometimes it can be interesting, such as when the F-150 was passed over for the Chevy Colorado...but the same truck wins this year, haha.

I did see a Colorado towing a big ass camper the other day. Much bigger than I would have thought it would be able to tow. Edited by fuzzymoomoo

2017 MOTOR TREND TRUCK OF THE YEAR CONTENDERS 2017 TRUCK OF THE YEAR FINALISTS

I'm not sure how the Ram is a competitor unless they consider the grille changes enough to consider it? The F-150 has the new engine and tranny. Kinda funny the Super Duty beat out it's baby brother.

Even outside the obvious pay for play implications, the fact that only vehicles that are new or significantly updated are eligible makes it nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Especially for full sized trucks where there are only a few possible contenders to begin with.
