akirby
This should pay off two ways for Ford if the trend continues - more profit per vehicle and fewer pull ahead sales.
rmc523
Nissan just came out with the new Titan too, they're having to discount it that much already?
rperez817
Nissan just came out with the new Titan too, they're having to discount it that much already? Yes sir, specifically the '16 Titan XD. In the DFW Metroplex, Nissan USA is offering up to $7,000 in rebates until 10/31 on Titan XD 2WD models. Dealer discounts can easily knock another $3,000 off sticker price. http://www.choosenissan.com/dallas-ft-worth-area/nissan-offers/ Rebates on the new half-ton 2017 Titan are much lower. RichardJensen
That chart should make it rather clear why Ford chose to idle KCAP. They are not chasing volume in a peaking market.

BORG
There is also supply constraints with SuperDuty in transition, that's likely the biggest reason they've reduced incentive spending on the 'F-Series'. Ford is no angel when it comes to incentive spending, but it's certainly not as reckless as Nissan and RAM.
