Back Into Mustang!!!!! Best place to buy extended warranty?

Recommended Posts

I've been a big fan of the Ford ESP and get it on all my cars. There are a few dealers online that sell it basically at cost, typically hundreds to over a thousand less than your dealer will offer. Try Flood Ford (www.FloodFordESP.com) for the best prices I've seen. I've always bought the longest, highest-mileage PremiumCARE warranty with a $200 deductible.

Good luck, and post pictures of your new ride!

+1 on Flood Ford.

After I got my 2017 Fusion, I was ready to purchase out of pocket an ESP from Flood. When I was signing the paperwork, my dealership asked about purchasing an ESP, I told them my plan and they sold me one at their cost, which was $13 above Flood's internet volume price. Worked out good for me because I was able to roll it into my financing.

My contact sells them $100 over cost which is cheaper then flood ford. He will even waive the finance fee for you if you want to do the 0% interest Financing for them.

I'll pm you his info.. have had over 100 people buy through him all over the phone.

Funny story, Flood Ford is one of the dealers local to me (and who I bought my 13 Fusion from). I knew the price of their ESP before buying and the finance manager tried getting me to pay almost $400 ove that price. I told him I would just buy from them online and he looked at me like "oh crap". Needless to say, he came down to their internet price lol.

I hate companies that do that. I don't begrudge anyone a profit even if it seems a little high. But don't gouge some customers just because they didn't know to ask for the discount or check the website. That's similar to the old "bring us any ad and we'll match it" trick where they price it higher hoping you won't comparison shop and if you do then they give you the price you should have gotten in the first place.

Whenever I do comparison shopping I tell each vendor to give me their best price and they only get one shot. Don't give me the "if you get a better price we'll match it" BS. If you can lower your price to match somebody else then lower it now.

That's what I did when I purchased my wife's Explorer. I said I wanted your best price and NO add-ons (tinted wheels, magic paint protection, trunk monkey, etc.). So we received a fair price and ordered it. When we took delivery, they tinted the front windows anyway. I specifically told them in person & in writing not to do it, and they tried to charge me $300 for it. I said sorry, I am not paying $300 for it and they can scrape it off if they want. They ended up giving me the tint for free.

As far as extended warranties go, I stopped buying them in the late 90's when the one I bought from Best Buy didn't cover what it should. If I add up all the money I saved not buying extended warranties for all the TV's, stereos, appliances, computers & vehicles that I've purchased over the years, it would probably be somewhere in the $25,000 range, maybe more.

I always find it funny how the salesman selling you the car tells you how well built & dependable it is, but the finance guy tells you how it's a big pile of rolling shit that is going to fall apart and cost you thousands if you don't buy an extended warranty. :)
