This is a great quote - and I find it mind boggling that more Americans don't care about what he is trying to tell us. There are only 3 real ways to grow an economy: Mining, Agriculture, and Manufacturing. Printing money, increasing debt, trading services, and adding additional fees that don't add value but increase spending don't grow the GDP - as we have seen for the last 20 years.

 

Either we have a country or we don't!

Why does the UAW and other Unions continue to support candidates who sell us down the river.

 

We gave Bill Clinton 100's of millions of dollars and he turned around and pushed NAFTA through.

 

We gave Obama even more money and votes and what did he give us, TPP. He is still pressuring Democrats to sell out and pass it.

 

The UAW needs to stop supporting candidates who push these deals that sell us down the river. Ask your reps this question and they just stare and you and then storm off.

He is kind of right about tax incentives. The company always cries/lies and says that they can't afford our wages, moving jobs out of the country and always gouging us at contract time when actually taxes are cheaper in these countries compared to the US, on a daily basis not just once in the form of an incentive over time. I say if they want to cut salaries they can start at the top. Of course their response would probably be "Let them eat cake".

The mainstream media is not a good source for info. As for NAFTA I knew that Bush started it and Clinton signed it but didn't realize that Bush signed it too, so to speak. Wikipedia gives more detailed info.

When Trump launched his clothing line he started up manufacturing outside of the country, thanks to NAFTA. Auto jobs were started in the US but are being moved outside of the US which causes a lot of resentment and is a hot topic button.

 

This election is about the lesser of two evils. According to the mainstream media the countries economy will collapse under Trump. According to me, when Clinton starts increasing our debt even more (free college for one) our economy will collapse especially since we are almost there now. If we make another payment to Iran we'll surely be there! You've heard of food lines and looting in other countries when this happens so the way I figure it if Trump gets in at least I'll still have my gun to defend myself from thieves trying to get my food and rioters trying to destroy my property! It's a crap shoot either way, sad.

First, my union brother, I want to commend you on your integrity by not resorting to name calling. I figured today when I got up that would be the case which would have meant that I would not have responded. As far as the following:

half of that statement unfortunately sounds like our union. Doesn't mean I would like to give up paying union dues in a right to work state.

 

I don't post often but lots of times when I do it is merely to make people think outside of the box.

The following is not to make you vote one way or the other, merely a think outside of the box as I still believe this is a vote on the lesser of two evils and one is no less evil than the other:

Since the democrats have been in office over the last eight years my son in law now has a bulls eye on his back. He is a career law enforcement officer and I am scared to death that my daughter will be a widow in her youth and my grandson will be an orphan.

Now a person can decide on a whelm that they identify with the opposite gender so as to use the bathroom of their choice. This opens up bathrooms to pedophiles (not to be confused with the LGBT community). If a school does not abide by the new rules of choice the Democrats hold their education funding as hostage. I call this extortion.

The definition of protest has now been revised over the last eight years. Use to be if a person wanted to protest they would make up a sign and stand on a street corner or march down the street. Now they refuse to stand and salute the flag with the blessing of the president. Obama is the laughing stock of other nations because he can't even get his country to salute their flag.

Riots have become common over the last eight years, also with the blessing of the current administration.
