pmooret
Can the dealer add the voice activated navigation system to the Sync 3?
ice-capades
If the past is any indication, and I haven't seen or heard anything different, the Navigation System cannot be added afterwards. The vehicle must be equipped with it from the factory. I'll try to look into this further just for confirmation.

fuzzymoomoo
I don't know about sync 3, but with the old my ford touch system adding navigation required a hardware change.
jasonj80
You can do it, but it isn't cheap - http://www.4dtech.com/sync-3-navigation-upgrade-kit/
pmooret
Thanks guys, the link was interesting. However, this grandma isn't tech savvy. I've gotten turned around before using my MapQuest directions so thought a nav system would be great. Of course will have to have my daughter, nephew or grandson, he's eight, show me how to use it. Guess I could practice at work. Been looking online at F150's and have narrowed it down to two but the one with the Nav system is white, not my favorite color but will probably go with it simply to keep from being turned around again, lol. The info listed in the packages is rather ambiguous in that it mentions a nav system with the Sync 3 but puts the word "available" in front of it. Looked at the invoices and seems if they get the nav it is listed separate along with an additional charge, meaning that it is not included with the Sync 3. Although I'm not tech savvy seems to this grandma that they should be able to add a nav system at the dealer, especially at the price they charge ($795). Knowing Ford they probably can but that would make too much sense. Need to trade asap so don't have time to order. I wanted the 3.73 rear end (we have a farm) but the very few that I found didn't have the 302A package that gives options like heated seats and mirrors, nav. and remote start. So we decided that maybe the 3.55 rear end would work especially since this is the back up vehicle as we have a F350 that is a beast. The nav system isn't available on very many of them or if they had the nav system they didn't have the trailer tow package. Seems the nav system shouldn't be a determining factor in this tech savvy age. The vehicle locator system on our employee website isn't all that great either. They don't have filters for rear end ratio or trailer tow. I had to load the window sticker to see what it had. If this vehicle doesn't work I can at least trade again when I don't have time constraints. Was hoping my current truck would last until I retire but that didn't happen. fuzzymoomoo
Nav isn't a feature the dealer can add. It can only be installed at the factory.
pmooret
Went with the white one, has chrome package, 20" chrome spoke wheels, and of course the nav system. Decided when I drive I can't see the color anyway, I'm 5'2" and sit as far back from the airbag as possible. Have been out in it a few times and each time someone gives us a compliment so maybe the white isn't so bad. Really did like that Blue Jean Blue though. BTW, located this truck outside of the LAP normal shopping area and they tried to add various charges to our A-plan, watch these guys. Thanks for the info guys!
