Decker
When is the Focus heading south? When will the Ranger start up? When will the glass house realize that numbers and greed push units to the customers that make the customer finally start looking elsewhere for quality products. 50K and 60K dollar units with poor at best launches and then the recalls. But as usual bad PR is costing sales across the board and this has happen before....and before.

fuzzymoomoo
Don't be surprised if Ford pulls the plug on the current focus MUCH sooner than expected.. You got any evidence of that or is that just a gut feeling?
TrailGaiter
Evidence?.. No lol..but it's from a historically reliable source, as soon as March.
fuzzymoomoo
Evidence?.. No lol..but it's from a historically reliable source, as soon as March. That's something I haven't heard yet. When the C-crew cast offs came back in June, we were told May 2018 was EOP for the Focus and C-Max from someone who I personally have never gotten any bad info from. TrailGaiter
I don't think you got bad information, that's what I've been hearing as well up until now. I think that was the plan but this car has tanked rapidly.
fuzzymoomoo
That plant in Mexico must be going up really fast. I have been told the timeline could change based on their construction schedule.
TrailGaiter
I don't know if it really matters if the Mexican plant is ready or not? Stop the bleeding until the new model..?
fuzzymoomoo
If we don't build them and Mexico isn't ready yet then there's nothing. They aren't going to suddenly start importing from Europe, Saarlouis doesn't have any capacity to spare and it would cost too much anyway. chuck734
I don't think they will stop building them I think they will drop the second shift. We were initially told when the Ranger comes in 2018 that the plant would be on one shift for two years until the Bronco was introduced in 2020. If they plan to eliminate that shift then why not do it early if demand is not there. Flat Rock should be concerned too. They sold 6636 units total last month and they work two shifts? fuzzymoomoo
Flat Rock has nothing to worry about for now, they still have a lot they're building for export, plus they're still building up Continental inventory.

wildosvt
When were we originally told this... Yeah, Exactly. The only thing I seen that TOTALLY debunks the above 1 shift theory is the handbill from Stamping/Body where the company wants a full year run of 2017's. fuzzymoomoo
2017 Model year is what it pointed at IIRC. no, I mean do they want a full calendar year of production in a full calandar year or do they want a full years worth of production in 6 months? wildosvt
no, I mean do they want a full calendar year of production in a full calandar year or do they want a full years worth of production in 6 months? OH! My bad. 250K units for next year. There is a bit of foggy information though. I will try to investigate more into this and bring back more info later.
