Decker
Oh my, I bet there's an entertaining story behind this! Sorry, fuzzy but.... no. In this great city of Chicago we have had a very large number of shootings this weekend, like so many other weekends. But this weekend two of the ever increasing number of victims, we have had two members shot right outside of the hall. Both members just received the news that they had just been elected for a second term. Then as in so many other shootings, first the verbal altercation started the situation on the road that, is all to much of a recurring story in so many of the shootings that happen so many times a day. One thing that is very much out of the ordinary is the fact that everyone involved are UAW members. Not rival gangs fighting over control of a city block or two no, UAW members, candidates, people with the best interest of their fellow members at heart. The results of this topic is very apparent ( "political stance") can be seen on the state level , national level and now even on the union level. Our brothers that sustained the wounds are doing as good as can be expected. No life threatening issues. The other brother was apprehended. What makes someone go to such lengths to become a UAW Representative? There has always been the plain and simple selling out or deals for whatever but, when did it become us against us to this point? Then there is the Jimmy response, "counseling will be set up today". Put the lines in the sand when the different wages were put in place, make it very clear that the company can work the members any amount of hours they want, no limits to super this or that, give away premium operations to become a C crew member (without any knowledge of the operations), give one crew a big break to go to day shift to work the holidays, stretch the trades members so thin that nothing is being maintained, make group leaders salaried members without much if any leadership abilities, watch the quality fly out the door as fast as the units making that left turn off the sell line and the hostility level only going up on both sides of the fence.....? Counseling? you think? CAP will be ok..... Edited June 5, 2016 by Decker

MTP'er
I'm just surprised that this hasn't happen sooner. With all the BULL SHIT and Kool-Aid drinking from the IUAW, it looks like we have another boob king on our hands.
