libertas
Hello everyone! I placed an order for a 2016 GT Premium Mustang Convertible with just about every option (other than automatic transmission!) in Guard with Sand interior on March 31. It will be among the last 2016s assembled. This is my first Ford and my first american car. I have had a long line of BMWs (outgoing was an M3 Convertible - E46). I'm a bit apprehensive about quality and dealer interactions, but hopefully these won't be an issue. I will say that the purchase experience was vastly different than european dealers. In the past I have always had written into my sales contracts that I would get a loaner and that they would come to my office to trade cars when service was needed. I have NEVER had an issue getting that and dont think I have ever had to step foot in a BMW, MB, or Lexus dealership for service. The Ford dealer basically laughed in my face. They openly told me that loaners are never offered or available. We have an extra car, so not a big deal. But a big difference.
Stephen White
Welcome! Well, as you know, you pay for that extra service. My last three cars were a Mercedes, a BMW and an Audi. They were great cars, and you do get those kinds of concierge type services. But those cars cost a lot to own after a few years. The Mercedes took ONLY premium fuel, so there's $.50/gal extra every time. It also took only synthetic engine oil, so a $25 oil change cost $100 on that car. And the tires were different size front and back, so no rotating tires. I think I'll pay for the loaners, thanks. It also depends on which dealer. My local Ford dealer not only offers a loaner whenever your car is in for service, but you get a loaner once per year, no matter what, just to drive for a couple of days. Anyway, have fun with your Stang!
akirby
If you purchase an ESP (extended warranty) you'll get a free loaner/rental car for warranty service. That is all Ford offers. Lincoln is beginning to roll out concierge service where they will pick up the vehicle, wash it, provide a free Lincoln loaner, etc. but that may still vary from dealer to dealer while they're transitioning. So maybe by 2020 you can buy a LincStang and get that type of service.....
