2005 Oil Pan Replacement

I just picked up a 2005 2.0 auto Focus for my kids to drive. I was changing the oil and noticed right away it had some weird oil plug. It kind of looked like a wing nut. I now figured out that this weird plug is used when the oil plug threads get stripped. It works like a drywall anchor with "wings" that you push though the hole that pop open once inside. Then it pulls tight against the inside of the oil pan when you tighten it.

Anyway, it broke when I was tightening it (by hand) and the "wings" are now floating around the bottom of the oil pan. Since I have a chunk of metal in the pan, and plus the oil plug threads are stripped, I figure a new pan is in order. A new pan is only about $80.

Eyeballing it, it looks pretty straight forward to remove it. I don't see anything in the way. Just unbolt and drop it?

Am I missing something? It almost looks too easy.
