And that buyers were switching from large cars and Utilities into smaller more economical Cars and Utes. Ford makes some Explorers in Venezuela and Russia, but not a very large number. More to the point, Venezuela (largely suspended at this point due to currency issue) and Russia Explorer were both CKD operations so they came from CAP as well... just shipped in a container instead of completely assembled. Admittedly, this quote was from an article in 2013 just as Explorer production was ramping up at Sollers: Ford exports Explorers from the United States to 64 countries.
