Just got this info from my benefits rep

Sign ups will be Feb15th through Mar 21st

If you are eligible to retire when you sign up they want you out by may 1st, if not they will let you sign up as long as you have your time in by Dec.

Just passing along what I was told here at CAP. Hope the info is correct

trades or prod or both ?

From what I read on a handout someone posted that had the sides cutoff there will be a limit for the trades, did not give any numbers. Also it said that they could change the dates so as not to disrupt production too much.I could not read all the details like I said because the sides of the handout were missing.I got almost 28 years and I was hoping the window would be open longer.I hear here at CAP we are going down for tooling in 2018 so I'm hoping they might offer something then!!!

Going down for tooling in 2018??? At this point we at CAP will be starting the 2017 502 TT build Monday 01 Feb. On paper the 2018 MY and/or 2019 MY will see no major tooling events. 2019 502 is already in the meeting and planning stage and may be a shortened MY. Most of Body`s tooling is planned for the week here and the week there during holidays and summer vacation "week"...Most if not all tooling will be done for Paint, while Paint continues regular production schedules. Most likely Material Handling will be made to do the same when it comes to floor plan legalistic`s and the zone lay outs while, supporting regular production schedules. We have 2020 MY planning well on the way and yep we have VO and Engineering working on moving things from the planning stages.

We have to release the 385 as soon as we can!!!!! Although it went from a Feb. 2016 balance out to a end of May 2016 balance out. We need the line space, line side space and I need the paint systems for 2017 MY but that is on hold. We were told build the 385 until it balances out... you figure out how to do that with the production schedule running as is...

Then there are the forgotten "mix rates". We have upped the production mix for 502`s three times in the last 12 months or so. I`m not sure if the human machines can keep up with the cycle times now in place but, the real machine`s are pretty much at their max of cycle time. Ever stop and think about the last time we went 2 shifts without a multiple break down day?

I bring these points of interest up to try and shed some light on the down time syndrome... Cecil, we can`t do regular preventative maintenance that is being begged for by the machine`s by their breaking down so much. We can`t shut the line down for more than the length of a unit without salaried members getting looks on their faces that only a mother could look at. You ever wonder why? Sales.... Cecil, sales. So if you think we will see any real down time, it would take lay off`s that are generated by what? A lack of sales.

Good luck with the re tooling down time......

Thanks for crushing my hope lol

Sorry ;)

With all the transfer possibilities and the retirement incentives I can only hope that CAP can put together a plan to fully staff our trades. With all the plans for automation just in paint we are going to need those trades members. Wait what I`m I thinking? successful planning at CAP? Sorry just a brain fart....

With all the internet un loving reviews of the "new" Continental.... who know`s we may never balance out the 385 or they bring it back (Taurus - 500 - Taurus thingy) after the $70K Continental hits the rental market....?

Sorry Decker, I hate to break it to you, but the internet doesn't like the Contjnental because it's not flashy and not trying to be German like Cadillacs of the last decade.

I agree with the "not flashy" point of view. When things go from CAD to real life at Ford the flash tends to vaporize.... When we were shown the drawings of the Taurus and Sable a few years ago my heart stopped and I ran to the dealer to pre order. Then we had the first prebuild start in house I asked... when do we start building the two new models....? cause this aint what was on the big screen at the glass house....?

Then there is the "Full Size" luxury sedan label? Once again I hope the public forgets about the size of a "full size" sedan, that it is now or was a few model years ago....

As for the projected price range of $60K to $70K at one time I though that would be a negative point but, we can`t seem to build enough $60K plus 502`s.... so who knows the public will make or break the Full Size Luxury Market. Hopefully who ever thought naming every frickin Lincoln "MK" this or that is fired. Bring back the true Mark XII or XIII and whats up with no frickin two door units other than the Mustang??? I got this profit sharing check that would jump out of the bank for a two door SHO!!! right frickin now

Is a slow burn with rebuilding Lincoln. There's a second Lincoln coming to FRAP in the next few years, and early rumor is its that oft-rumored Mustang based Lincoln.

I`ll take one!!!! If they put some Lincoln rocker covers over the 5 liter all the better!!!

Does anybody know the total number of retirement packages production and skill trades awarded? Seems like an excess number of packages were not used from the original contract allocation. Not all skill trades people were eligible for incentive. Can't believe the union was willing to give back these unused packages and tell 1/2 the trades SORRY!!!!

"Can`t believe the union was willing to..." I hear that type of wording at the start of sentences, a lot lately.
