hindy
Does anyone have a handle on how the future years of EPA diesel regulations will effect Super Duty Model years 2017 and beyond?
blwnsmoke
I know the 2017 has no changes to the motor except an increase in HP and TQ. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding was that the 6.7 meets the next level of emissions requirements. The only thing I'm hoping for in the future is for Ford to redesign the DPF system so there is a 9th injector in the exhaust to burn off the soot instead of injecting fuel on the exhaust stroke of the passenger side bank. bzcat
Vehicles over 8,500 lbs are "medium duty" under EPA and CARB regs. The rules are pretty lax compared to "passenger" vehicles under 8,500 lbs. Ford will have no problem passing the next few levels of regs with current 6.
hindy
Thanks for the info. Looking at the 2017 myself. Blwnsmoke, You mentioned a 9th injector, what would the injector do different from the current inject of fuel in the exhaust system? I'm a little ignorant when it comes to the DPF.
