Anthony
Source: Car and Driver What It Is: That right there, folks, is Honda’s second-generation and more generic-appearing Ridgeline pickup truck, caught testing in the yoga pants of vehicle camouflage. The tight-fitting, swirly camo gives us our best look yet at the 2017 Ridgeline’s basic profile, which is far more conventional than that of the first-generation model, with its truncated bed and stubby hood. Unlike every other pickup on the market, the Ridgeline again employs a unibody—as opposed to a body-on-frame design—and keeps its independent rear suspension. akirby
Should do fine for the intended purpose to provide die hard Honda fans with a utility truck. But the front end just looks funky - the wheel is almost a foot further rearward than a F150. It's the same as the Pilot obviously but for some reason it doesn't look as bad on the Pilot. Maybe it's just me.
fordmantpw
It kinda looks like a minivan with the back cutoff. That's basically what it is. Wonder if it has sliding doors? Kinda strange looking, and the distance from the back of the rear doors to the rear of the cab looks rather large. Hmm, maybe it DOES have sliding doors.

But, Also, I'd guess that perhaps it needs to be a longer-than-usual space between the door and the back of the cab to replace the angled support the last model had (this time they just make it vertical and disguise it in the cab structure, rather than making it a prominent design element). probowler
Looks 10x better than Gen 1, Should be interesting to see how a unibody pickup does...interested in the Mpg for sure
Bob Rosadini
One unibody pick up choice is enough! (IMO) Just hope Ford passes on this idea-no TC based cheese box with a blue oval with my dividends please

630land
It's for California "Japan only" buyers who think anything from Motown will "fall apart in a year", even though they never owned a real pick up.
Bob Rosadini
A unibody pickup would target a different market than a traditional truck. No argument-perhaps I'm jumping to conclusion that there is only one option for an alternative to F-150?
rmc523
No argument-perhaps I'm jumping to conclusion that there is only one option for an alternative to F-150? I just think this will target (aside from the Honda faithful), the family that wants a comfortable vehicle that also has a bed they can throw stuff into they may not want inside a car, or for occasional trips to Home Depot .....a leisure truck. Nobody will buy this thing to tow huge loads or be a traditional truck.

And the 4wd worked just fine today in the -1 degree ice/snow this morning. The truck is a little on the fugly side but that hopefully will be resolved with the redesign. Exactly... it works just fine as a truck the way most people use their trucks. And now it appears Honda has figured out that buyers want a truck that looks like a truck so I expect Ridgeline II to sell a lot better than the original.

rmc523
Final teaser: Is that entire rear bumper (and side skirts) black plastic?
PREMiERdrum
Is that entire rear bumper (and side skirts) black plastic? I can't tell if it's just the harsh shadow effect of this low-rent Photoshop or if it's actually two-tone, but in either event... yeesh. I mean looking at the bumper steps and how the bumper appears to be the same panel, I'd say it's two-tone. The question is whether it's painted or Avalanche-esque plain black plastic.
