Let's Buy Jeep. It's time to plan 24 months out.

Recommended Posts

Eventually, the press will figure out that FCA is toast, due to Sergio Marchionne's complete pillaging of the candy store, which of course was needed to prop up an otherwise joke of a car line - on both sides of the ocean.

FCA is toast.

So, let's get on with it. Ford lost out buying the great production facility in Bramalea, Ontario when AMC was heading for bankruptcy (which would have given them Jeep for a song), so please do not blow your opportunity this time. Make a deal with Sergio save some face - (it's going so bad fast even HIS FAST-ASS head is spinning) and let him be the hero for a re-badge a few Fords - just like FCA just did with their Miata re-badge today. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/11/18/fiat-124-spider-mazda-mx5-miata-comparison-feature/

They have no electrification strategy, and he now HATES GM. So step up to the plate Mark.

The Fiat Family is just like Fords. They need a way to save their empire. They're already doing it by selling Ferrari to remove it from the failing FCA empire which is crumbing.

You have to get it before GM grabs it with a bigger pile of cash than you have. Because we all know they're blowing 5 Billion at a time with share buybacks, and we could grab Jeep for likely a years worth of profits if we were to include some re-badging. It would fill our plants to capacity, and allow FCA to part with Jeep peacefully, thinking we actually give a shit about them.

I'm thinking we could then make a Bronco based on a proven off-road platform - and extend that brand into Ford's domain. Just please don't offer him a job.

lol ;)

FCA will get carved up like a Thankgiving turkey in a few years [months?].

Nissan will get Ram trucks and minivan plant/tooling.

GM will get the Brampton plant, to switch to SUV/truck production, or not at all.

VW or a Euro company will get the scraps of Fiat and Alfa

Jeep will go to .... God only knows???!!!!

Unfortunately, Dodge and Chrysler brands will die off. Dart, 200, 300, Charger, gone.

More sad is loss of jobs.

I have a weird feeling that Hyundai/Kia will end up with Chrysler, Dodge, Ram & Jeep, keeping only Ram & Jeep and shutting down Chrysler & Dodge.

It would be an easy way for Hyundai to get pickups, which dealers are begging for. Some say this is why Sergio renamed the trucks to Ram, to easily sell off.

I can see the "great Serg" selling off Ram, killing Dodge/Chysler, and keeping Jeep, to keep his dream of Alfa selling as well as Audi. But it will take some virtual body blows to get him to admit defeat.

As long as someone keeps the challenger alive, the world will keep on spinning

OTOH, maybe a company would be interested grabbing the LX platform cars and sell as Dodges, i.e. "Dodge Chrysler 300C"?

The 200 and Dart are fleet queens and soon to be BHPH staples. See them dying off.
