ice-capades
Ford... Please don't use the F-Series front. The Expedition needs its own front end style!
BorinOldborg
Ford... Please don't use the F-Series front. The Expedition needs its own front end style! You are definitely right!
tbone
I totally agree with you. I love the F150 styling, but it doesn't belong on the Expedition.
92merc
Ford... Please don't use the F-Series front. The Expedition needs its own front end style! Considering how close the Super Duty front is close to the F150, I'd say the Expi will be following suit.
fordmantpw
Considering how close the Super Duty front is close to the F150, I'd say the Expi will be following suit. Say what? The Super Duty and F150 fronts are completely different.
akirby
Exactly the same except for the bumper, grille, headlamps and every other part.
akirby
I would expect it to be more like the Explorer than a F series.
fordmantpw
Exactly the same except for the bumper, grille, headlamps and every other part. OK, looks like they use the same fog lights. Now that I see them side by side, though, are the hoods identical (obviously outside of the 'Super Duty' stamped in the SD's hood)? If not, they are very similar. It's kinda hard to tell with the shadows on the F150. I would expect it to be more like the Explorer than a F series. Yup. BORG
The Expedition won't look like those mules. The only time the Expedition looked like the truck was when it first launched in the 90's. And incidentally, the F-150 is getting a facelift alongside the new Expedition. Hopefully the Expedition has a more family friendly/luxurious design than the ugly utilitarian bread truck design we've had for over a decade now. This is one of the reasons GM crushed the Expedition despite superior engineering. Edited July 28, 2016 by BORG
akirby
The cednter section of the hoods are different.
fordmantpw
The cednter section of the hoods are different. Yeah, I'm seeing that...a bit more bulge in the SD hood, likely to make room for the BAPS (big-azz-PowerStroke).
Pioneer
Hoods are stamped in different locations. F-150 in Dearborn and Super Duty in Kentucky.
fordmantpw
Hoods are stamped in different locations. F-150 in Dearborn and Super Duty in Kentucky. Are all the SD parts stamped in KY, or do some come from Dearborn?
BORG
The only thing F-150 and SuperDuty shares is the cab.
Pioneer
Are all the SD parts stamped in KY, or do some come from Dearborn? Some SD parts are stamped in Dearborn and sent by rail to Kentucky. Dearborn Stamping is adding another major press line. When completed, the expansion will make it the largest stamping operation in the world under one roof, if it already isn't.
buddysystem
It's interesting that the F150 is getting a restyling alongside the Expedition yet the soon to be introduced Raptor will have the current generation styling (sort of).

I don't see anything too drastic changing on the F-150. Minor changes but not like 2010-2011.
Pioneer
. ...and Avon Lake? Maybe. Or maybe to Kentucky first for subassembly. Not sure.
