Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum, but a long time Ford or Ford Product owner. I won't even consider anything else for home or my business vehicles. Currently have a 2011 MKX and 2008 Mountaineer in the garage with a 2016 MKX on order to replace the Mountaineer. I was slightly concerned about the downsize but I love the 2011 so much I couldn't resist the 2016.

Wow, that's even earlier than I ordered mine. I ordered June 6th, and mine was build on July 21st and is now in transit due to arrive any day. I've also seen some arrive with later order dates. It seems so random that they are being built and arriving, which seems really odd to me.

Thanks J-150

BeckyT - I honestly think something got messed up with my order. My dealer is usually pretty forthcoming and he has been quiet on this one. I know there were some issues early on with the manufacturing process, but something has seemed off the whole process. In any case, as long as I get the car, it looks good, and it is to the specs I ordered at, I don't mind.

I've also wondered if it depends on the dealer volume too. If say your dealer didn't get as many orders and I was #10 at my dealer, but you were #2 or something. I don't know how that works, but perhaps there are allotment issues and I was just further down on the list in my area.

Dealers have the ability to prioritize their orders with the factory. Retail (sold) vehicles should be 10-19 and dealer stock should be 20-99. Each dealer gets allocation based on previous sales. Orders are pulled for production when allocation is available based on priority (lowest first), then order date). If the dealer gives all retail orders a priority of 15 they'll be built in order of the date they were ordered with Ford. If one customer has a priority 10 and the rest are 11 the 10 will be built first regardless of date. This only applies to orders that are buildable - orders that are on hold due to material or other issues are not scheduled until they're buildable.
