Xbar
Could Ford bring back a Michigan-built Ranger pickup? http://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/ford/2015/08/26/ford-ranger-michigan-assembly-uaw-negotiations/32376079/ Maybe not. But they can introduce the all new F-100. Has anyone definitely stated that it would be called the "Ranger"? This way Ford can have their cake and eat it too. If it really takes off and takes away that buyer that would have otherwise bought a Colorado because he/she does not want a full sized truck, they can still keep their numbers for the coveted F-Series and satisfy the market that has been screaming for the Ranger to come back. Win-Win.
182
There will be more product coming besides the Ranger.
focusfrank
The Bronco will be built at MAP too on the same frame as the Ranger
Q-bert
in this order by year to date sales as of July 2015: F-series:423,468 Fusion: 178,263 Escape: 175,669 Focus: 134,106 Explorer: 130,865 there's your top 5 in sales for Ford NA year-to-date. So before you make wild claims about something not being high volume, do some research beforehand. quit being a troll. then why they laying people off? if they are so awesome volume, its also the fastest assembly plant ford has. so yeah out of those ford does not make that much profitt on each as well yeah its more then just volume. so its only half right quit being shallow and look at the whole issue
Q-bert
Focus is a 200K-250K year vehicle. Ranger is likely looking at 50K. Market segment is still way down and many Ranger buyers went to F150 or the competition. and you figures are based on what exactly? ranger hasnt been sold since 2011, there are many sales lost due to this, going to gm and more, and i said its not just RANGER its a whole new platform, ranger/bronco/(lincoln) prolly 4 models when all is done your name is partially right, u are marginal. twintornados
Something to consider would be Expedition/Navigator being based on the upcoming T7 Ranger chassis.

182
Once you gone, you gone til they request you come back Once you voluntarily leave you are gone for good. The people leaving MAP now have a new home plant. Only way to return is if new plant lays off and MAP needs people.

jumpercable
Yep Louisville is the highest volume plant. Louisville and Kentucky Truck make 750000 vehicles a year.

What if it's local where you don't get relocation money? It's the people that show up for work only once every other week that caused me and 600 other people their jobs. The problem is people don't show up for work and the UAW overlord keep protecting these slugs.

The company doesn't give a shit about attendance as long as there's other workers to cover them which there always was.

NAVYDAVY
Once you transferred to Chicago, that became your home plant, unless they are looking for volunteers. Considering south eastern Michigan, they have all the people they need.
