BORG
The 2016 MKX is finally landing on dealership lots and sales began last week. I took a bunch of photos of the cars I saw on the lot and compared them to my '13 MKX. I thought some of you in here might appreciate those photos because I haven't seen similar photos yet. I have a loaded '16 MKX arriving in August to replace my '13. Click on the photos to see the full view btw, the collage view crops them. https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B045n8hH4WdS8i Edited July 6, 2015 by BORG

BeckyT
How did you get that nice Lincoln coffee mug set?
akirby
Borg doesn't post here much, but I would assume the mugs and coffeemaker are part of a black label package.
BeckyT
Thanks. I have a 2016 MKX on order and did not receive a fancy mug set, but I guess that's why.
akirby
I have a set of Lincoln champagne flutes that have never been out of the box (came with a 2000 Lincoln LS). Never even opened the box. A coffee mug would be infinitely more useful. I'm just guessing on the Black Label thing - ask your dealer.
Justin Harger
I didn't do black label and I got the mugs.
RayoVac
When did your mugs arrive? Before or after you got your vehicle?
Justin Harger
Still waiting on the vehicle... I got them in the beginning of August though. My dealer and I go back a long time so it is possible it goes out to all black label and the rest are by request of the dealer.I wouldn't get too worked up about it though. It is a nice gesture, but it is just a corporate gift. I used it a couple of times, and I'm sure it will be like akirby it will sit in a drawer somewhere for a long time. Here is a link if you want one yourself! http://www.4imprint.com/product/109149/Personal-Espresso-Set Edited September 17, 2015 by Justin Harger
RayoVac
Ahhh well I loaded it out, but did not go Black Label
BORG
I did not order Black Label and it came anyway, the letter included is signed by the general manager of the dealership so I'm assuming that's who is sending them or initiating their distribution. I was actually only the 2nd person to order an MKX at their dealership back in April. Ironically, my car is suffering significant production delays so I won't be able to buy the MKX. They aren't telling my dealer what is causing the problem but it's likely related to the 22-Way Seats according to some tips I got on the other forum. I've been extending my lease since February and I told them I'm just not willing to extend my lease any further with no assurance that the car is going to be built and delivered in a timely manner. I've seen 8 delays since it was originally scheduled for July 21st. It's just not meant to be, this experience has completly destroyed my excitement for getting a new car and now it's just a monthly nightmare I have to constantly manage so I'm ready to just move on and get it behind me ASAP. I'm not sure what I'll get right now but I'll have it by the 4th when my lease expires. Edited September 23, 2015 by BORG

BORG
I'm sorry to hear that. As someone who worked very hard to get the MKX into production, I'm sorry to see that your order has, for whatever reason, been slipping. It's a knockout product. I respect your hard work and all those involved and I know they're doing what is needed to deliver a quality product. There will always be issues with a new product launch and not all orders will go smoothly considering the complexity involved. I'll probably be back again in a few years once the MKX launch has been fully sorted out and imagine I can get whatever I want then. I knew this was a risk going into the order since I went through this before with the 2013 MKZ which I end up not buying as well (still bought an MKX). I was just hoping that was a fluke but even I understand it takes a good 12 months to launch a new Lincoln and I should just be willing to grab what's available on the lot and not be so picky, haha. Unfortunately MKX inventory remains very thin and it's hard to find the right combination of colors, interiors, features, etc. I'm actually hoping to get into an Explorer Platinum which basically has everything I want and the only thing I need to pick is exterior color. Justin Harger
Sorry to hear you are having so much trouble. I empathize with you, but you have been waiting even longer than I have. I don't know what your specs are, but my local dealer has 4 or 5 MKX's on their lot. They don't quite meet what I am looking for, so I still want to wait for mine to come in. Have you looked around at other dealers or are you just tired of the process and want to move on?
BORG
I am still hunting inventories weekly for vehicles that closely match what I'm looking for but I'm coming up empty. I'm essentially looking for a fully-loaded Black/Cappuccino MKX, and I'm not getting anywhere close unless I look at White exterior or Black interior, and in many cases those vehicles are in inventory but not actually on the lots. I can get an MKX if I'm willing to compromise on colors and features and ultimately I'm just not willing to do that at these prices. And indeed, this has been a fatiguing process of constant delays and uncertainty so I'm ready to move on and stand back while Lincoln sorts itself out. BORG
Very nice! Congrats! Are you glad you waited it out? Very much so, it's a stunning vehicle and incredibly fun to drive. Audio system is incredible and I could live in those seats for the rest of my life, haha.

Enjoy your new car and thanks for keeping us posted on your experience (from the other boards also)
BORG
The thigh support on the standard MKX are too short for me and much shorter than the exiting car so I basically bought the seats for that purpose, haha. But the big deal are the side bolsters which wrap you up and hold you comfortably. Everything deflates as well when you exit the car to make it easier. It's such a neat system. I'm not so sure about the massaging feature yet, it's not what I would call soothing, haha. Edited October 10, 2015 by BORG
