markfnc
Looking at getting a 13/14 used Taurus. 07 Explorer has 206,000 miles, so about ready for something new. Driving 30-40 minute highway commute, so looking for a good /quiet ride. I test drove a new 15 Limited Taurus, and really liked it. Anything to look out for, or cautions? markfnc
I bought a used 2013 Taurus SEL this weekend. It silver, cloth seats. I like it. It was a rental. Is it best to order the owners manual thru Ford, or is Amazon ok? Need to learn the reprogam my key, as the car is set to go no faster that 80. How do you do that? You can get the owner's manuals online if they're not in the glovebox. Fordowner.com or go to motorcraftservice.com . They're free pdf files - save it to your hard drive. I don't think there are any 3rd party shop manuals yet, but the instructions are in the owner's manual. It's called mykey - it allows you to set limits. Try the other key (hopefully you have one) as it should be the admin key allowing you to use the mykey menus to wipe out the mykey setting for the other key. If you only have one key you'll need to see the dealer to change it and/or program a 2nd key.
markfnc
no admin key. this was a rental, all I have is the "my key". When I go to settings with this key in ignition there are no my key options. I need an option to reset without admin key.

markfnc
I got my owners manual yesterday. Got the admin key fixed last week. Still need to figure a few things out on the sync, but its getting close. I really like it. When comparing I drove a 2013 Impala, and this is head and shoulders above that. Leaving to drive from NC to Toronto and back soon. Should be a good trip with the "new to me" Taurus.
