ChrisFra
When I bought my 2014 Fusion Energi last year, I got most everything on it, but didn't get adaptive cruise control. At the time, it seemed kind of gimmicky and I absolutely LOVE the car, but now after hearing how well it works in practice, I kind of regret not getting it. When I ordered a new 2015 CMAX Energi for my wife earlier this year, I had hoped to at least get the adaptive cruise option for her vehicle, but was disappointed to find that option isn't offered on the CMAX. You can get Parking Assist, but that still seems pretty gimmicky to me so I didn't go for it. Anyone know if/when we might see adaptive cruise control as an option for the CMAX? transitman
Not likely in the current version of the C-Max. My guess, there will be a model refresh in the next couple years with an exterior body redesign, possibly (hopefully), a redesign of the HVB compartment to provide more cargo space and some added option packages. Sales of the Energi have been slow, despite all the benefits of a plug-in hybrid. I believe most people see it as a way to save gas rather than a way to save the air, and lowering gas prices will further affect sales. I believe Ford will stay with the hatch design so there is a "wagon" style vehicle in the line up, slotted between the Focus and the Escape. hybridbear
The Fusion & MKZ share a platform. This is a higher value platform designed to appeal to more expensive market segment. The C-Max is built on the Focus platform. The Focus is designed to be a vehicle for budget conscious consumers with a much lower cost. Thus the Focus/C-Max don't offer a number of features that are available on the Fusion/MKZ. Additionally, there are features that the Focus/C-Max platform includes which are not included in the Fusion/MKZ, such as ambient lighting at a lower trim level. It's all based on which features Ford feels are attractive to the specific segment to which each vehicle is marketed.
ChrisFra
Interesting. I guess I assumed because the CMAX and Fusion shared a motor the Cmax would be more like the Fusion than the Focus. So it's a Fusion motor on a Focus platform? Hmmm Interesting.
akirby
There is no such thing as a focus or fusion motor. It's a hybrid drivetrain that can go in pretty much any vehicle.
