heimyford
Hi - I have a 2008 Ford Explorer Limited. Lately when entering with key fob unlock, seat moves back to allow entry, when key is inserted in ignition seat move to driving position that is programmed for that fob. After starting vehicle after a few seconds the seat moves back and interior lights turn on as though I had just pressed the unlock on the key fob. Anyone else out there experienced this? It sometimes does this after I've placed the car in gear as well which is quite startling and unsafe as well. Thanks for any responses. YT90SC
Ground or ajar switch wire broken in the driver's door jam. Makes it think that the door is being opened.
fordtech1
There can be an issue with the ignition cylinder. With vehicle running and apply pressure to key and push in towards column and see If your seat doesn't move. There was a SSM about replacing lock cylinders. I've replaced several cylinders. However, a few times I had to replace lock housing.
fordtech1
By the way, you can go into settings in message center and turn off easy entry feature and the seat won't move with key removal.

YT90SC
Fordtech is right. I forgot the key in ignition issue as well. I've also done a metric crapton of newer F-150s for ignition switch issues. They use the same basic switch.
heimyford
While driving the vehicle yesterday when the problem occurred I pushed the key in and it moved back into place. Looks like the lock cylinder is the issue. Thank you for the help.
