I know I shouldn't be posting here but whatever.

I see no Sport version anymore just the ST. Sport versions can go to the CUV/SUV group.

I think the Fusion ST should have the EB23, 6 speed manual and 6 Speed wet clutch DCT. The next gen transmission could be added later. Have the new AWD system with variable steering. Perhaps this would be a good time to introduce a longitudinal powertrain setup?

Add miko suede seats or Recardos, lower cladding with diffuser much like the rest of the ST brethren. I think that covers it.

Now for the RS: A hotter EB23 like the Focus RS. Definitely AWD if the ST sticks with TVS only. I think the standard differential could be upgraded to Quaifes. IMHO.

at the very least, an Auto Trans should be offered. I've been to many different sites and I'm not alone. They would move more performance division cars (bigger profits) if they did.

Given the fact outside of a compact or sporty coupes, the stick is an endangered species...I don't see Ford not offering an Automatic in a Fusion ST.

What Hugh said, I can see Ford building pretty easily with minimal fuzz. And of course, with an Automatic transmission and AWD. Maybe it can be the first vehicle to showcase a few more gears for the tranny.

Now with this senario, I would hope they beef up the MKZ as well and give it a property power increase.

I'd say the current Fiesta and Focus ST recipe works well. Perhaps make it more of a sleeper without a large maw face. EB23 or EB27 with 6 sp. AWD would be bonus. If it's an auto transmission only affair, don't bother. BTW, all STs and Ford Performance cars/trucks should be available in liquid blue!

EB 2.3L with a stick, EB 2.7L with a selectshift automatic. Not at the same time. :)

I don't see the need for an exotic DCT here - leave that for the Mustang.

As I drifted off to bed, I forgot about the EB27. I figured the MKZ could use that too. :)

I would be happy with a 2.3 EB, AWD with torque vectoring, and 6 speed manual... basically take the Focus RS drivetrain and install it in Fusion. Instead of 350+hp, maybe dial it back a little to 330hp for better MPG.

But I suspect the market will be more receptive to something like 2.7 EB (also around 330hp in FWD layout), passive AWD, and 9 speed auto. It's also much cheaper route since MKZ will get the 2.7 EB, 9 speed auto is just a matter of time, and passive AWD is already available.

@Hugh....seeing as in the GT the HP of the 3.5 was dialed to over 600, wonder what HP the next SHO will have?....

450 on 87! 40 mpg combined and $40,000 CAD! Licenced to steal. Warning: 1st builds may qualify for the Escape EB16 fire sale.
