I ordered a new 2016 MKX last week to replace my 2010 model with was totaled in an accident on April 13th

Has job one been completed and is Oakwood producing models? I was told the car should come through in mid to late July.

In the meantime I'm driving my '86 Mark VII which I purchased new.

The 2016MY Taurus will be an all-new vehicle as being reported via multiple message threads and supposedly being produced on a modified Fusion chassis. There has also been a lot of talk and speculation about 2016MY Taurus production being moved to the Flat Rock Assembly Plat from Chicago although I've not seen or heard any confirmation of the production move.

Love(d) my FLEX! I ordered my third ecoBoost AWD Limited in December when my second lease expired. It was built in February or March (depending on who to believe) and it sat in Oakville almost three months until about two weeks ago. According to the latest report it is still sitting on a Canadian National Rail car in Flat Rock, MI, awaiting a truck to pick it up and deliver to my dealer in DEARBORN! I have an open case with Ford Customer Service, but getting nowhere. This is no way to run a business, Mr. Fields, Why can't SPECIAL ORDERs tagged with a customer's name and A/Z number be given priority for shipment and delivery? Having any vehicle sit on a ramp or rail car for months at a time after production is letting Ford money go uncollected. Send this note to the bean counters and let's see heads roll.

PLEASE tell me there is life for the FLEX beyond the 2015 MY.

Dude, I can understand your frustration with the shipping delays. It has absolutely nothing to do with Ford. Once it leaves the factory floor and hits the holding lot for shipping, its all handled by a third party company.

Then why did my 2015 FLEX sit on RAMP CK60 for three months?! I have the window sticker marked SPECIAL ORDER and my name on the TAG number! If the date shown (2 18 15) is the build date, why is my SPECIAL ORDER still sitting somewhere instead of my driveway?

wes12... I can't give you a specific answer about your Flex but I have a similar situation with a Flex that was ordered and produced for stock. However, just because a unit is at a Ramp doesn't mean that it isn't involved in a Ford delivery hold for some reason.

I just had a retail 2015 Mustang GT arrive that was produced and then sat at the plant for nearly two months before actually being shipped. In the case of this 2015 Mustang GT, I know what the delivery hold was for and the customer didn't have a problem waiting and took delivery this morning. The last thing that Ford wants is to deliver a vehicle to a Dealer and then have it be sold and delivered to a customer and then have to recall the vehicle. Quality is still very much part of the process! A few years ago I had an even more severe delivery hold time wise for a retail order... vehicle was built, sat at the plant for two months then shipped and arrived at the Ramp and then sent all the way back to the plant before being shipped again.

I understand your frustration with the long wait but it will be worth it!

Thanks, ice-capades, for your empathy; I had a similar situation in 2012 when I had to wait until November for a vehicle ordered in June. In this case it was the first C-MAX hybrid and I understood that quality assurance was of utmost importance. In addition to the normal window sticker there was a sheet taped to the window with a long list of additional tests my vehicle has been subjected to. At least I was able to reach the right person who performed a 'good will gesture' by uploading a 3-year, 45k maintenance plan (ESP) for it. I appreciated it, but it was of limited value since I took only a two year, 21k miles lease and oil changes were 10k miles apart.

There were NO holds placed on the FLEX. I believe the delay in my 2015 FLEX is unwarranted since it is so little changed from the 2013 model I turned in last December. As such, don't you think another 'good will gesture' would be in order?

Don't take me wrong, I love the FLEX and have been extremely patient in my wait. This will be my third 3.5L ecoBoost, AWD Limited w/ trailer tow and the second one with Adaptive Cruise Control / Collision Warning -- what a great package!! I am so spoiled!
