And electronic items tend to either fail quickly (meaning under factory warranty) or last forever absent some outside force (physical or electrical anomaly).

LOL, not with my luck. Both seat heaters and heated mirrors went belly up a few months out of warranty and as you saw earlier the HVAC is starting to have a mind of it's own which has already been changed out once. I can only imagine the wifes Fusion auto start not working, since there is no key anymore you're stranded. Or even getting in the damn car, no key hole there either if the electrical glitches....great, now I jinxed her

Seat heaters and mirror heaters are mechanical devices unless it was the switch.

There most certainly is a keyhole - it's under the driver's door handle and the key is inside the fob.

There is also a slot in the console that will energize and read the keyfob if the battery dies or there is some other problem with the keyless start.

Try reading the OM.

^ cool, Thanks! I just opened our spare FOB and there she is. I'll have to let her know when she gets home. Or..... wait until it fails and "save the day" and get one of those "fun" rewards that night :yahoo:

Your salesman should have told you about that...as well as the funnel under the truck floor (behind the drivers side rear seat back) that is specially designed to work with the capless fuel tank. A regular funnel will damage the cap.
