rmc523
Looks like business as usual over at GM, where GMC could get a version of the Chevy Trax/Buick Encore. The Buick Encore is doing so well and its platform-mate the Chevrolet Trax has such good reviewer vibes going for it already, that a GMC version hasn't been ruled out. During the recent press launch, Automotive News asked lead engineer Al Manzor if the Trax could wear a GMC-branded suit, to which Manzor replied, "I think that is certainly possible." http://www.autoblog.com/2014/12/08/chevy-trax-engineer-says-gmc-version-possible/ And we all know with a decision like this at GM, "certainly possible" means we'll see it soon. akirby
Because it's always better to triple your costs for the same number of sales.
sullynd
Wonder when the Caddy version will be shown.
twintornados
...and the Holden, Opel and Vauxhall versions too.

PREMiERdrum
In all fairness... the GMC Granite concept was the first CUV designed on this platform. This segment is either about to explode, or be completely oversaturated. It will be interesting to watch.
PREMiERdrum
And, somewhat hilariously... I got this letter (from my cousin! He's GM of this outlet) trying to get us to trade in our Escape on a new one with their "Chri$tmas Ca$h" program. Check out the pic they used of the new "Escape"... I gave him so much hell for it. Of course, these programs are mailed out by 3rd party companies who get access to the dealer's contact list. Still.

PREMiERdrum
That's a matter of opinion...... Certainly is.. but to me, the Granite's lower overall height makes the proportions gel a little better. The Trax isn't necessarily offensive, it just looks like a 10 year old design. Encore, however, looks like It it ran into something and squished itself.
akirby
Now you're just talking degrees of ugliness. I like the ecosport design much better (shocking).

You know maybe I'm just ridiculous, but I actually think that looks better than probably most CUVs out right now....

I think it looks like a tiny van. Sort of like the Chevy Astro/GMC... uh... whatever the F they called it.

baggs32
Add GMC's square-like wheel openings to that thing and you'll have a uni-brow effect going on. Not good.
RichardJensen
But it HAS to have the square wheel openings. That's how you KNOW it's a GMC.

jpd80
...and the Holden, Opel and Vauxhall versions too. Opel already has the Mokka, Holden has the Traxx.... Traxx will become a square wheel arched GMC because that's what GM does... Edited December 18, 2014 by jpd80
630land
Maybe there will be GMC badged cars soon, too. To get uppity buyers who refuse to get anything called Buick, Chevy or Cadillac.
