moosehead
Trying to decide on mudflaps for my 15 250. I like the molded but I'm worried about clearance issues. Does anyone have either? Opinions would be greatly appreciated.
brhulen
Hey Moosehead, I'm going to install the molded mud guards on my 2015 F350 KR. It won't get used for hardcore fourwheeling (I have a Jeep for that) other than using it to haul hay bales out of the pasture. Here is my thought though, if you are going to be pulling a trailer over unimproved roads then I would install the large rubber mud flaps as they are going to do the best job in deflecting the gravel etc. provided you add some weight to the bottom of the flaps to reduce "sailing". As they are pliable there shouldn't be any clearance issues either. But if you're just after minimal protection and don't get off road much then the molded mud guards will do fine. Admit it, these trucks have a tendency to get stuck in a hurry, at least that has been my experience.
brhulen
I just had the Ford molded mudguards installed on my 15 KR and they look great. No clearance issues and the fit is very precise. I think you'd like them. Let me know if you want some pictures.
51 ashton
I have a 14 gmc reg cab long bed 4wd.I put oem molded flaps on mine and before 3500 miles the paint was missing down to the primer on tbe front of the box. Returned them and got weather techs flaps and had to modify the front to eliminate all signs of tire discharge. That and amoung other reasons I am parting with this gmc truck and getting a 15 super duty. Looking at the ford molded flaps they are to short to protect the sides completely. for some that may be acceptable I live in the middle of a six mile dirt road that goes over the blue ridge mountain and anything less than full body coverage is unacceptable to me
pecouvillon
I have the custom dril-less mudflaps from Duraflap on my 2008 F350 and they have worked great. Plan on getting the same for my 2016 F350 that is on order.
