Attached is a copy of the 2015 Flex Order Guide that was published on 09/15/2014. The original model changeover was for scheduling to start on 10/16/2014 and a Job #1 date of 11/17/2014. Scheduling for the 2015 Flex has been delayed for each of the past 2 weeks.

Yesterday Dealers were informed that Job #1 has been delayed and that 2015 Flex units are now expected to arrive at dealerships in March 2015.

TY! thumb.gif &

Ice-capades,

have you heard any reason why FoMoCo seems to bwe bucking the practice of calling vehicles which begin production after the first of the year by the ModelYear following?

ie by SOP, this Flex should be 2016my

TY, ice-capades thumb.gif

something about this really hits my [suspicion button]

& it's happening(ed) on more than the Flex

so

if they weren't deliberately trying to confuse things/us/ME

they'd have made the model change for 2015my earlier in cy2014...

...now when the heck will they go to 2016my?? a short-short my? or continue this counter-everybodyelse stuff? ..."gee, Ford is still trying to sell "last year's" leftovers"

plus

( re: The BOTCH )

I wish they'd get away from these TurkeyDay-to-NewYear's changeovers = just asking for trouble during the WORST possible time of the year for transporting - ie WINTER

Most of the time, the MY starts after September of the CY. Cars that come out in the spring used to be called 1/2 MY..but that has been rare and the US DOT allows for cars launched after 2 Jan to be called the next MY

Either the vehicles are simply running later than expected like the Edge and they were supposed to be out before the end of this year or they just didn't want to have a short model year for the 2015 model. It's possible that there was not going to be a 2015 Flex and they changed their minds at the last minute which caused the delay.
