Lincoln Black Label interiors

Recommended Posts

For fans (or more likely non-fans) of the fox fire red headliner in the Center Stage interior: According to their response on the Lincoln Black Label facebook page, the red headliner is "on the chopping block." Not sure if I liked it or not but I liked that it was a BOLD option.

F&$(# these new car owners, red interiors are where it's at

I navigated around the website, and granted I'm already very negative towards the tasteless work of Susan Lampinen, but it made me more sure she is in over her head. The red headliner is just one of the typically tacky decisions from this self described "Detroit hot rod brat". The perforation pattern seems really jarring and completely at odds with the names and intent of the themes. Most of the interior color schemes went out of style years ago. I can't see if the exclusive set of exterior colors has her far overdone, speed boat from the 1970's metal flake treatment. Let's hope not. Shouldn't stepping up to Lincoln get you exclusive to Lincoln exterior colors without having to buy an additional package, that is little more than exclusive to Lincoln colors exterior colors.....well, unless you want white leather or red headliners. Picking from four themes that have few unique options, doesn't really compete with other luxury makers that offer all sorts of ways to personalize their cars.

Lincoln is doing some things really right, like hiring MM for their ad campaign. However, black label seems half-baked and poorly executed, at best. If Ford wants to make hot rods, hire Susan. If they want to make a luxury car, keep her a mile away.

A diamond perforation pattern is "jarring?" Color schemes out of style? They all look like contemporary color schemes to me.

The Black Label program may not be perfect, but it's a far better attempt than anything we've seen Lincoln do recently, if not ever.

I really like the "indulgence" theme.

I guess I'm an idiot who is into outdated colors and styles.

What does Cadillac have that can compete?? It is a start. No, it doesn't have the myriad of high priced options that some of the luxury brands have, but you can't build one that costs $90K with orange leather either.

I do like the dealership / owner perks also.

By itself this isn't huge but taken in context with dealership upgrades and other changes I think it's a good sign and step in the right direction. One of my criticisms of Lincoln is that they used the same interior and exterior colors as Ford. One more reason to step up to a Lincoln.
