One important amendment was Article 16, Section 2 regarding the dues ...increase.The dues increase shall be implemented, effective the first regularly scheduled pay roll period in which dues are normally deducted, beginning November 1, 2014. Dues deductions shall not be retroactive to August 2014. http://www.facebook.com/uawforddept?fref=nf

focusfrank
Next September will be very interesting. They better come up with one helluva contract proposal for us with raises all across the board to include the elimination of tier 2 wages with them forcing this increase in our dues without allowing us to vote on it. If not i can see a lot of members opting out of the union

Pioneer
Especially when people can opt out of paying dues in Michigan in 2015. That's exactly what I meant. It didn't take long for their lie about all the extra money going into the strike fund to come out. Contact negotiations is put up or shut up time for international. focusfrank
There not going to get rid of the tier wage system get used to that fact Unless the Legacy employees take a pay cut LMFAO If the union doesn't stand its ground and fight to get rid of the tier system i can see a mass exodus of tier 2 workers leaving the union in right to work states due to the fact Lear Seating in Chicago which supplies seats to the Ford plant in Chicago went on strike which only lasted less than 2 days for numerous reasons one being for the elimination of the 2 tier system. Lear Seating in Chicago agreed to eliminate that system so now they top out at $21/hour verse under the tier 2 system they topped out at $16/hour. So how can Ford Motor company justify it now
chuck734
But Lear created a sub assembly classification that tops out at $15.25 so not all workers are going to the top rate. http://www.autonews.com/article/20140922/OEM01/140929987/pay-gap-remains-under-lear-uaw-contract-after-demise-of-two-tier

IMHO the IUAW is more focused on dues paying head count & self preservation. Equal pay for equal work only applies to hourly Ford workers and NOT any IUAW staffing or their head count. RougeWelder
They better come up with one helluva contract proposal for us with raises all across the board to include the elimination of tier 2 wages with them forcing this increase in our dues without allowing us to vote on it. If not i can see a lot of members opting out of the union There will be raises across the board. The only problem is that they will not even come close to getting us back to where we were before they opened the contract to help Ford Mtr. get through troubled times. Even a $3 per hr raise will not cover the COLA we would have earned over the last few years. Then, along with the percieved pay increase, there will be a hidden adjustment to reduce our profit sharing, health benefits, or pension payments. That adjustment will not surface until after the contract is passed or someone notices our profit sharing(months later) has been reduced in relation to the North American profits Ford made. Or maybe a retiree notices their co-pay has suddenly gone up or prescriptions cost alot more for no apparent reason. Then, on top of what appears to be a generous pay increase($3/hr), a nice signing bonus will be offered to sucker those in who do not see the big picture. In the end, we still will not recoup the money we gave up in good faith believing that our employer would reward us for helping them survive. For the final kick in the nuts, our 50 or so Vp's will get a hundred+ times more in bonuses and incentives. Oh yeah.....IUAW will also increase their own pay for "rolling up their sleeves" to work on all they got for us.........Wait a minute.......is my glass half full or half empty???? Oh, I did not see the dribble hole until I drank from it.

I have to agree with you, i honestly don't think care about "us" the dues paying members, we keep getting screwed every contract, they allow the company to keep taking from us and what have we gotten in return, NOTHING... You know for a fact were going to get screwed again on this contract, oh wait they doubled our union dues so we can strike!! Bunch of B.S.
