Greendoner
This is my first post, so sorry if it's seems dragged on, okay, here goes: I have a 2010 fusion se, and about 60,000 miles on it. A few months ago, around February, I was out on a drive going from Hockessin DE to Baltimore, about 100 miles, nice drive, and I was hitting some traffic on I-95 by inner harbor, and it opened up on me, I mean flat out POURING, and that worked for a little while, but then after we were there, and hung around for a while, came home and everything seemed fine. The next day, I go to start my car to go to work and clean my windshield as I normally do, and the drivers side works fine, but the passengers side SUCKS, and the side of the wiper closest to the base of it chatters and barely makes contact with the windshield. Do any other fusion owners have this problem? What did you do to fix this? And by the way, these are new blades, put on by the dealer and not a thing changed. Chris1970
Make sure that the latch at the bottom (near the motor spindle - base of the arm) is fully locked down. If it's not, it will not make full contact with the windshield.
Greendoner
Okay let me make this a little more specific. If you're looking at it like you're driving, looking out the windshield, the passenger side wiper works fine on the far right side, but everything to the left of the middle of the passenger side wiper is not functioning at all. I tried adjusting that latch, will post pics soon, but that hasn't helped. Any other ideas?
akirby
Have you cleaned the windshield?
ajcomputer
The arm could be bent, or the hinge could be hanging up as well.
