Fiat profits down 55%

If Fiat continues siphoning Dodge profits to other divisions, I expect to see far less investment in the RAM updates. RAM will be falling behind within a few years.

Not that it would bother me. :-)

As an American, I REALLY don't want to witness a repeat of the DaimlerChrysler debacle. I'd prefer that Chrysler keep the Ram viable. Competition also helps keep Ford on its toes.

All i can say is Fix It Again Tomorrow :happy feet:

Chrysler has not been AMERICAN owned for some time. Germans dumped them ...now the Italians own them 100%...of course it was a great fire sale price after the American taxpayers bailed them out....again. Nice article today on how all those incentives to boost Chrysler sales has bitten them in profits.

Chrysler is buying market share with those incentives. Considering that the company was essentially dead and ready to be buried when Fiat took over, and several of the products HAVE been radically improved since that time, this is not necessarily a bad strategy...for the short-term. Chrysler needs to get people in the showroom door just to try its new products.
