Mustang Order

Recommended Posts

I have ordered a 2015 Mustang GT fastback. Ordered on 5/20. Not a stock order but customer name. Others with this kind of order are getting build dates already that ordered later than me. Before you tell me to ask my dealer ......I have. My 50th birthday is the end of Sept and was really hoping to get it by then. Can someone please explain how the system works . Thanks,

Dave

Each dealer gets a certain number of cars to sell (allocation). Each production cycle (weekly I think) Ford gives out dealer allocations. If your dealer gets allocation then Ford starts with the lowest priority vehicle that can be built (no material holds) and schedules them for production until they run out of orders or run out of allocation. All retail orders (pre-sold) are supposed to have priorities of 10-19. Dealer stock should have 20-89 priorities. So either your dealer doesn't have enough allocation or you have too many orders ahead of yours. The dealer sets the priority so it's totally up to them what gets built when within their allocation. Find out your priority and that will tell you a lot.

That should put you at the head of the line when your dealer gets allocation. Unless he has multiple orders that are all at priority 10 then it's by order date (Ford's order date not the dealer). You can get cyberdman to track the order in the Employee section - just be sure to read and follow the rules exactly.
