jasonj80
Thinking their internal reviews are showing a lot of things that were covered up.http://money.cnn.com/2014/05/20/autos/gm-recall/index.html?hpt=hp_t2 Edited May 20, 2014 by jasonj80
akirby
I think that's an understatement. Maybe not covered up, but certainly ignored or overlooked.
RichardJensen
HOLY CRAP. A defect so dangerous that they're implementing a stop-sale, and it's been present on their vehicles for SIX YEARS?
RichardJensen
Dear GM: This is not a viable management philosophy.

Hugh
http://jalopnik.com/watch-john-oliver-eviscerate-gm-over-the-recall-scandal-1578384032 I pretty much spit up my drink at this.
NickF1011
Wonder if this stop sale includes used ones on dealer lots? Appears so. said it is a serious enough problem that it is ordering dealers not to sell new or used models of the vehicles until repairs are made. PREMiERdrum
A stop sale on your popular 3-row crossovers ahead of a big 3-day selling weekend? Zomg. GM. Finding new ways to fail.
jasonj80
Wonder if Ford/other dealers will stop selling them if they are on their lots.
92merc
In the past year, my co-worker, his parents, and his in-laws all bought Enclaves. I sent him the link. Should be funny for him considering how much he was harping about Ford not doing well with recalls just a year ago. My how the tables have turned.

akirby
Latest headline says it all....... Are any GM cars not recalled?
fordtech1
Wow what a mess. Go ahead and air the dirty laundry get it over with. This will be GM's pinto fiasco? Corporations taking a gamble to save a buck? Say it isn't so. People are in all up in arms over this? Look at the government's wasteful spending and over taxing, then I'll worry about keeping mace and a troll doll off my key chain.
fordtech1
Truthfully I think GM thought they would not be liable for old GM problems. I think this is a case of thinking we can hide behind bankruptcy and save a fortune. Big companies seem to forget about the social attack. BrewfanGRB
Thing that struck me was this recall alone will cost $200 million. Just tearing their earnings apart.
jpd80
Truthfully I think GM thought they would not be liable for old GM problems. I think this is a case of thinking we can hide behind bankruptcy and save a fortune. Big companies seem to forget about the social attack. You bet. And for sure, certain elements inside GM would have been hoping that the books on all of those Old GM issues would stay shut while nothing came back from in-service incidents.. Cat is out of the bag and boy, doesn't it stink. GM will do anything for a sale..This is all a plot to get 12 million GM buyers back into the showroom,...:rolleyes. atomcat68
Add 200,000 Chevy Aveo cars to the list. Some sort of fire hazard.
92merc
How did he react? He didn't say squat actually. Kinda of surprised. He just blew it off saying that there are always "weak points" in the safety of any car. Design flaw isn't a "weakness" in my book. We'll have to wait and see what GM comes up with for a solution. If it took them 8 years to address the ignition issue, who knows how long it'll take to fix a seatbelt.
Ron W.
It's not getting any better for GM http://www.wlns.com/story/25574479/gm-recalls-another-218000-cars The recall posted Wednesday on a U.S. government website is GM's 30th this year. It brings the total number of vehicles recalled by the company since January to 13.8 million,
chevys
Is there anything they have not recalled? Ford better take note here. GM is showing what a big sloppy company they really are. The only thing that could get worse for them is if the goverment would demand the 10 bilion they owe to all of us.
grbeck
Thing that struck me was this recall alone will cost $200 million. Just tearing their earnings apart. But I'm sure GM saved a penny on the parts in question, which earned someone a nice, fat bonus.
