Gary Walkowicz for PRESIDENT

And today, at least in my region, they're getting the delegates together to brainwash them into supporting the dues increase. It's time to get real. You're not going to defeat the Admin Cauc on who they're supporting or in getting the referendum vote. The delegates are too busy for the most part sucking up and this is a wasted effort and just makes people look foolish. Give it up, it's a lost cause. I'd be concentrating right now on making damned sure that they don't raise those bloody union dues. And if you REALLY want to control them? Control their money! Sign off on your Beck rights with the VCAP and hamstring them. Start playing hardball because they're damned sure doing it to us and they could care less what happens to the rank and file. They've shown that time and again. Right now they're on their own personal agenda and it has nothing to do with what is good for the people in the plants!

Wildosvt sorry you are wrong

Competitive Operating Agreements (COA) -included the outsourcing of several operations in at least assembly plants around 2006, "core / non-core" language that resulted in the loss of hourly cleaners to outsourcing, Highlights from the DTP COA include;

Multi level operations- multi level, including "rough road" driving function, will be performed by a 3rd party purchased service provider.

Paint operations- eliminate "prep" time (including and extra environmental relief time) currently practiced in the DTP paint operations

The loss of our last contractual pay increase-diverted to fund the initial VEBA years before the 2007 official language concerning VEBA.So it wasn't the fact we didn't get a raise, it is the fact that our last contractual owed pay increase was diverted to start the funding for VEBA - I would consider that a concession, and yes Langston this was the framework for what was solidified in the 2007 contract that was VEBA. Without knowing for a fact I am willing to bet that part of the initial funding for the 2007 (official VEBA) came from the diversions of our last owed pay increase from the company which were owed to us I believe in 2006.

VEBA actually started in fall of 2005 roughly 9 months before the 2006 Con Con.

Well, It's been fun but, I'm thinking that the letter is a bit Rouge-centric and that is slightly off putting. A guy wants to run for International president and his stuff is a little home field oriented. Coming from a smaller local and parts plant, sometimes the attention paid to the big boys is bothersome and makes you wonder if someone like Gary would represent all of us any better.

I believe you are correct damagedone, the immediate action was rolling in any COLA to start and the 2006 wage increase was diverted to VEBA rather going to each worker. We have gotten off topic but was kind of hard to stay on topic with the OP removing the first post, with that said there is no other single person that has been more outspoken against concessions and 2 tier than Gary.

While I do not believe he will stand a real chance to get voted in, it is always good to have some opposition in any democratic vote.

While I understand the frustration at the VEBA, the alternative was much much worse. The company was going to summarily cut retiree health care based on a interpretation of the contract, or atleast that's how I understand the court filings.

I'm not sure if it counts as a concession as both the company and the workers put money into the VEBA. I believe that Ford is still paying 500+ million a year till 2019.

Also Gary knows that it is an unwinnable scenario but his reasons for doing what he is doing is to show the yes men and the attitude of our once proud union needs to change. TWO tier and AWS are two main things that are breaking us and it needs to change. We should all have a vote in the president
