Hybrider Posted December 28, 2013 Share Posted December 28, 2013 (edited) Even though this 3D printing technology is not yet fast enough for high-volume direct production manufacturing, it still helps Ford to greatly reduce the time it takes to develop prototype test parts, or even for use in niche production applications, allowing much quicker and cheaper iterations of developmental engineering part ideas for more radical and innovative part designs. Hopefully Ford is using this new 3D printing technology to its maximum potential to allow Ford to get a significant lead on their competition!
