bobbyd
Will the new 2015 Ford F-Series be aluminum body? The hoods apparently have been aluminum for some time, but will the body go aluminum in 2015? I'm told Woodhaven Stamping is closing and sending the business to Dearborn. Aluminum or high strength steel is the question? Anybody know?

ice-capades
The 2015 F-150 will be all-new but as to what exactly will be "all-new" is nothing but speculation at this point, especially regarding the body construction. GM/GMC may be getting lots of media attention now but Ford is not about to give up sales leadership, powertrain performance, towing performance, MPG ratings or anything else with the next generation F-150 series! The next generation 2015 F-150 will set the new standard with features and performance that can only be speculation at this point.
wellandford
Wonder if the new body will stand up over time - will it dent a lot easier, will the rivets hold - how about welds? lots of questions - will have to wait for a year to see how it stands up. You're new so I'll cut you some slack. This is military grade aluminum - it's more durable than regular steel. Ford has tested it already in real world construction fleets (without the testers knowing what it was). It will be more durable than steel. Do a google search and you can find Ford's articles and videos about it.
92merc
This is military grade aluminum - it's more durable than regular steel. Motor trend posted a recent article I read on Google Plus. They basically said the same thing. Should be harder to dent and isn't your "pop can aluminum". I was surprised MT actually said that. They're usually harder on Fords.
