Edstock Posted April 27, 2013 Share Posted April 27, 2013 If they can keep the unsprung weight down to keep the ride reasonable and make it live through a crappy winter with salty slush, it could be a real winner, IMHO. The design has an appeal that's a century old. IIRC, Ferdinand Porsche designed a hybrid around 1910 or so that used in-wheel electric motors, as well, other attempts at in-wheel motors have come and gone.
