This is the worst place to try to gather useful, accurate information. If you like rumors and listening to bedroom experts who think they have all of the answers this is a great place. Sometimes you will actually find a crumb of accurate information.

Good luck my friend.

I appreciate your honesty. Its just that my friend who works at the plant put my name and 2 numbers on a list back in July. I just have no clue when they might call. Some say after first of the year others say March. Its just frustrating is all.

Flat Rock is already manned up and the LTS's that were at other plants manned up the jobs at Sterling Heights a few months ago.

And your getting this information from where? There starting 8 new lines at Sterling Axle. No comment on this? Someone has to work these new lines.

There isn't 8 new lines at Sterling. Only 4. And a couple of them are small assembly loops. And there is about to be another 3-4 shutting down as soon as the '14 Mustang is done. All those employees will be going to those new deparments , and to available work. Not to mention, we are getting 125 Ford seinority production employees from Romeo Engine due to engine production cuts there (the 4.6 line is done)

Sorry to burst your bubble, but whoever told you about hiring for "8 new lines" and to plan on getting called soon doesn't know what they're talking about

Update for my referral; He was called on August 13th. Was sent some paper work for his physical, which had to be done at the specified location by August 15th. He reported to the plant on August 19th. So far he is liking it well enough. Remember its called a job and work and not a party! He is current on 1st shift, but I suspect that is just for the "training" and will be moved to 2nd/B shift. He has a college drgree in Criminal Justice but does not want to be a LEO. I guess that makes him a "loser" in some posters opinion since this is the best offer he had in some time other than permanent part time work installing office furniture. Hopefully the economy and the auto business specificallywill improve over time and the wages and benefits will return!

ExPolice..........Pass it on, DOH and ALL Border Patrol is hiring.

Do you know of any plants hiring in the coming months or is that something that is just up in the air. I keep hearing 2014 is supposed to be Ford's biggest year for hiring but then again I have heard about a thousand different things.

Well, if car sales are down then 2014 won't be a good year for that. With TLO's this year and people waiting for buyouts near or after the contract I think this might not be the best year.
