Milstar 04 Sport
A friend of mine stated that a close friend of his just bought a 2012 CV from a dealer. He said the car was destined for Saudi Arabia, but the deal fell though in SA. The interesting part is the fact the vehicle has a 5.0L engine in it. Some other features such as three bar grille, bucket seats with floor shifter. He also said the vehicle was fast.
All-Or-Nothing
See if you can get pics. If FORD really did this I will be pissed. I want one too.
Grump
I am extremely skeptical of this, Saudi 2012 CV's didn't meet North American crash standards and definitely emissions but anything is possible.
Milstar 04 Sport
Sorry I didn't get back to you guys. I will be seeing my friend next week and will ask him to take pictures just to confirm. My take on this is that the vehicle maybe a prior year vehicle, say a P71, that has been rebuilt and was to be registered in SA. I just have a hard-time accepting that the vehicle left St Thomas with a 5.0L. My friend is a former CV sport owner, so he is knowledgeable about what is standard equipment in a CV. Until I can get pics to post, I too will remain a little puzzled too....
Milstar 04 Sport
Just to clarify strange things in the auto world, I have a 1986 Dodge Van that was build in 1985. The tune-up decal and the VID identify it as a 1985. The registration ID's it as a 1986. The completed vehicle statement by the interior conversation company completed the vehicle in late 1986 and assigned it as a model year 1986. Bob Rosadini
Pictures for sure-as they say on the TractorbyNet website..."If no pictures it did't happen" :shades:
rscalzo
The three bar grill was a Special Edition in 2008 used for export only. I think the 5.0 engine is dealer BS. Bored of Pisteon
Never the less, I'd like to get my hands on that type of grill for a Crown Vic for a buddy of mine that owns a P71. Any leads anyone?
hee haw
Never the less, I'd like to get my hands on that type of grill for a Crown Vic for a buddy of mine that owns a P71. Any leads anyone? This frontend can be bought from PHOTOSHOP. If you go this way get someone better to do it, pictures don't have to look fake.
rscalzo
Except there are photos of the vehicle in a Kuwait.showroom. A simple search will find you many comments on it along with the three bar grill pictured. Or you could read the Popular Mechanics article from 2008 on the car.
